Bio

Tim has worked in the business of art for most of his adult life. From his own compositions, to graphic arts, to ad agencies in New York, to professionally framing artwork, to a career teaching art at the secondary level, he has worked in many areas of the industry. Tim has recently retired from teaching art and lives with his wife, Liz in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he continues to enjoy plein air painting.

Artist statement

I draw inspiration for my work from all aspects of life, but primarily from nature itself. I have an interest in man-made objects coexisting in natural environment which is often reflected in pieces that feature both local and far-flung landmarks.

Composition takes an obscure point of view as where bold colors depict the energy and movement of the moment. I will often approach a work as a type of puzzle playing with negative and positive shapes.

My work is sometimes produced in a style of realism and sometimes borders on abstract as a result of defining various shapes and patterns found in nature.
